Event Description
This years Golf Outing was held on September 11, 2020 at the Riverbank Golf Club in South Lyon, Michigan. We had the best turnout in years despite the risks of gathering this year. We had 17 foursomes with 68 golfers, 5 volunteers and a guest, totaling 74 people
This golf course always does a great job however they exceeded all expectations this year. From registration, golf carts, great course, to safely delivering two full meals, these folks did everything possible to ensure we all had space and time to be safe and enjoy the day.
After a full breakfast, the weather cooperated for the golfers. Each received a goody bag, donated by Carl’s Golf land along with tees, including a sleeve of balls, hand sanitizer, mask and munchies.

Signs were also placed on the course for the Burke Family and BCBSM with BCBSM sponsoring Association activities in general. It is important to note BCBSMs support allows our Association to operate without dues benefitting all of us.

Men: Holes 2, 8 and 14, Jack Dougherty and hole 12, Brian Maxson.
Women: Hole 2, Susan Reetz, hole 14, Jeanne Carlson with holes 8 and 12 unclaimed.
Lowest Score Teams:
Mixed – Brad Gavle, Al Pope, Diana Glaab and Chris Nordin with a 65
Women: Sue Slottke, Jean Tymczak, Alice Innes and Dana Bodin, 70
Men: James Kujawa, Jack Dougherty, Raju Penumatha and Frank Attwood,66
Everyone received a door prize with special recognition to Chris Nordin from the Glass Factory donating glass blowing classes and Tom Burzynski’s wife donating a brand new womens golf bag.
Many thanks go to volunteers Jerome Brown, Kathy Elston, Annette Foster Joyce Obenoff and Beleta Williams. Registration and logistics were flawless through their efforts. This outing would not happen without the Golf Committee of Brad Gavle, John McCrary and Kathy Elston, who continue to plan and execute a pretty fabulous outing
This year outing was a big deal since it was one of the only events the Association was able to sponsor due to the pandemic. Much thought went into if it could occur and how it could be handled in the safest way possible given the circumstances. We can report that an excellent time was had by all and no one became ill as a rest of our gathering. Successful fun!!!
