Event Description
On Friday, November 9, 2018, 61 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan retirees and their guests took a 90-minute Underground Railroad Tour at the Historic First Congregational Church of Detroit located on East Forest Avenue. ‘The ‘Flight to Freedom’ experience took place in the church’s lower level in a living replica of the underground railroad. Participants were taken back in time where they learned what it was like to be a run-away slave seeking ultimate freedom in Canada.
