Welcome to the BCBSM Retiree Association. Our mission is to enhance communication and social activity among members, contribute to charitable organizations and promote positive relations with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. The Association was established in 1982 with the support of the company and has since grown from 150 members to more than 3,000 today. We’ve expanded our programs as well and now offer 10 or 11 events each year.

Annual events include the spring, fall and holiday luncheons in the Detroit area and the snowbird luncheon in Florida. Other activities include day trips, theater events, the annual golf outing, Tigers games at Comerica Park and visits to museums and cultural landmarks around the Metropolitan Detroit area.

An executive board meets on the second Tuesday of each month to plan events and conduct Association business. The board consists of the officers (president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and immediate past president) and committee chairpersons. Committee members are welcome to attend board meetings but are not required to do so. Elections are held at the Annual Business Meeting and Luncheon in October.

Volunteers are always needed and welcome to support the board so that we may continue to offer a variety of activities. Current committees are Finance, Fundraising, Internet Communications, Membership Liaison, Newsletter, Operations, Planning and Social.

If you would like to join a committee or have questions about how you can help, contact us at information@miretireeassoc.com.
