Dear BCBSM Retiree Members:

We thank each of you who attended this year’s Spring Luncheon at Sinbad’s. It was great catching up on fond memories and dining in great fellowship.

We want to inform you that we’ve been advised that two members who attended the Spring Luncheon unfortunately have tested positive with COVID. The fortunate news is both individuals’ symptoms were mild and recovering well.

The safety of our members and guests are our top priority which is the reason we’re advising you with this communication. If you are having unfamiliar medical symptoms, we recommend you contact your physician, caregivers, or family members that you normally consult with concerning your health. As we continue our events, we plan to practice procedures to help reduce the spread and impact of COVID-19 following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). A resolution for the board to provide hand-sanitizer and masks onsite at each event is underway and will be proposed for adoption before the next event.

We are closely monitoring incoming communications related to anyone’s health conditions to ensure we are taking the appropriate communication steps.

We encourage you to review the CDC website for information about COVID-19, including its symptoms, how it spreads, and actions you can take to protect your health:

The board members understand that this is a serious situation and might be frightening. Additional information about coping with stress can be found on the CDC website:

Please contact us with questions and concerns by email at or visit our website for updates.

Again, we thank you for your participation, stay safe until we meet again.
