The BCBSM Retiree Association welcomes you to a new and exciting world where retirement is not just a state of mind but a way of life. Your head may be filled with amazing details of adventures, challenges and triumphs. Turn those thoughts into something concrete by getting involved with the BCBSM Retiree Association–a great group for reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones.
Each year, we sponsor seven charities as part of our Philanthropic Fund Raising thru our Chinese Auctions and annual Bowl-a-Rama. The committee is always looking for new or gently used items to auction off at our Annual Holiday Party and Spring Luncheon.
Please complete and return the attached communication form as soon as possible. You’ll soon be receiving retiree communications according to your preference and a committee member will contact you if appropriate.
If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me or visit the retiree website (http://www.miretireeassoc.com) for other contacts.

BCBSM Pension Management
There has been a change effective June 3rd to transition the pension servicing to Fidelity – this includes the disbursement/payment piece. Communication was sent out to all pensioners in mid-May regarding this change and a follow up letter was sent in mid-June to confirm that the new process is in place.
For anyone receiving a pension, they will be receiving their payments from Fidelity starting with their July payments. They will receive two (2) Form 1099-R for 2019: one from State Street Bank (for payments prior to July) and one from Fidelity (for payments on/after July).
Fidelity’s pension servicing includes online functionalities which allows pensioners to update their address, change direct deposit, update tax withholding, and request an outstanding check to be reissued (for payments on/after July). The Fidelity website address is www.netbenefits.com. Fidelity’s call center (the “Fidelity Retirement Service Center”) number is 800-378-4015.
State Street Bank’s retiree service center was discontinued as of 6/30. However, if anyone has issues with their pension payments or their 1099-R for payments prior to July, they can reach out directly to Retirement Administration and we will work with State Street Bank.
